Located in Santiago’s Bellavista neighborhood, Bar 2 provides all the amenities for a great night out. Whether you are with a group or friends or that special someone, the ambience of this second floor bar could turn you into a regular.
Unlike many venues in Santiago, Bar 2 combines music with the social. With a floor full of tables, this is not the place you want to go moshing, or dancing for that matter. The slightly raised stage and generous acoustics give you the feeling that you have escaped into music nirvana.
Since you can’t throw a rock without hitting a bar in Bellavista, atmosphere tends to make or break a good bar. Although the outside of Bar 2 may not stand out, take a moment to give the inside a chance. Climb the stairs to the second floor and you are transferred from the hustle and bustle of Santiago into a mellow oasis of mosaic glass windows. Although the red lights don’t make for great photos, they do set the tone for a rich rock out session.
The friendly staff and sufficient menu are more than enough to keep you rocking out all night long. The only thing that could stand in the way of a perfect night is the sound engineers. Sometimes it sounds as if they forgot they were in a small venue.
If you are looking to have some drinks along with good music, Bar 2 should definitely be on your radar. Although there is generally a cover between Ch$ 1,500-2,500 (approx. US$ 3-5), it is well worth the multiple sets of Santiago´s local music scene. Bar 2 provides an intimate musically inclined atmosphere, something that is becoming all too rare in the era of “bigger is better.”
