The sweet and delicious scent of chocolate filled the air in the Hall Central Edificio Sernatur from July 5 - 8, as it was converted into the Salón Del Chocolate. Hundreds of people bustled their way into this great chocolate expo to see offerings from the best in the industry, from Santiago and its regions such as Bozzo, Bonafide and Costa.

Chocolate fondue, chocolate lollipops, hot chocolate and truffles of all kinds dazzled the eyes and filled the nose with sweet aromas. Some chocolates were also elaborately designed as soccer balls, flowers, and cartoon characters, to the delight of the younger crowd.
In addition to the chocolate itself, Salón Del Chocolate hosted technical talks on cocoa, chocolate discussions, chocolate tastings, chocolate and wine matching, and cooking classes. Opening day even included a fashion show inspired by chocolate, featuring designers Ropa del alma, Carola Carreño, Katia Reznik, Marabunta co., Galaz y Makinita, Ximena Concha, Zamba Canuta and Hecho para ti.
For those not content only eating chocolate, a few booths offered information about chocolatería schools.
Various booths combined chocolate with other tasty treats, such as Bonafide which offers the perfect mix of coffee and chocolates. It was amazing to see how chocolate could be incorporated into most things, some of which you might never have guessed, which one booth proved by offering chocolate beer.
Popular here in Santiago and abroad, Salón Del Chocolate was a child’s dream: a room full of chocolate. Chocolate history, facts and myths provided an amusing education as well, showing visitors that chocolate does not in fact cause acne, insomnia, or headaches.
For those who missed out on this fourth edition of Salón Del Chocolate in Santiago, keep your eyes and noses open for the next one. You don’t want to miss out on this chocolate sensory overload.
