Revista Revolver headed to the Pulsar Awards Ceremony this Tuesday, where Chilean music artists came together to recognize their peers with 23 different awards. The event, which is organized by the Sociedad Chilena del Derecho de Autor is in it's second year.
Revolver readers are sure to recognize many of the nominated and awarded acts like Camila Moreno, Mariel Mariel, Francisca Valenzuela, as well as an award for Best Audiovisual Production for Music for Felipe Prado for Planeta No's video for "Sol a Sol."
However, for the general public, who could watch the awards on national television channels, many of these artists remain unknown, which, paradoxically, highlights that Chilean music has a much smaller following, usually among those who follow culture or art.
For this reason, Camila Morena, who took home the most Pulsar awards for the night—Best Pop Artist, Best Song, and Album of the year—remains an unfamiliar name for many Chileans.
