Elaine tends to go wherever the wind carries her, and one recent gust swept her from New York City down to Santiago. The Pacific coast, familiar smog and vintage wine were all the native Californian needed to feel at home in Chile, where she wrote for The Santiago Times and later covered the music scene and edited for Revolver in its early days.

After a stint of hopscotching between New York and Santiago, the NYU journalism grad now has one foot set in Chile and the other in South Korea, where she teaches English, edits for Revolver and blasts CHC, Juana fe and Chico Trujillo on Saturday afternoons.
