People always ask gabrielle \"why chile?\" and her first response is that she\'s always wanted to live in south america and always wanted to teach abroad. She finds herself explaining she wanted the beach, and the mountains and the valleys and the city and well, she wanted California...but south.
After graduating from San Francisco State she taught creative writing for two years and daydreamed, writing love letters to her city. A stroke of good timing brought her to Chile where she found her Spanish wasn\'t as good as she thought it was and that an avocado a day was the diet she\'d been missing. Her favorite things to do in Santiago are: listen to daddy yankee, drink cafe cortados, take photos of graffiti, dance until 5am and say \"Si po\" and \"cachai?\" like a local. She still finds herself writing love letters to her city.
